4-28-07 Thames Stripers

Time: 3:30pm-5:00pm
Crew: Tim, Bobbie, Patrick and Katie
Water Temp: 58-56
Tide: Flood to SlackWind: 5-10K SW
Conditions: Overcast
Fish Caught: 4 Stripers 10"-18"

We planned to cook lunch on the boat and head out, giving us probably the worst tide possible, the end of flood. Watching the water temperature during lunch it was a solid 60 degrees. By the time we finished lunch and cleaned up the water temperature had dropped two degrees. We had some nice striper action mostly on blue and white jig heads, all in about 10 foot of water, once the water hit about 56 the fish turned off.

Here is a typical schoolie:

This is Katie with the record “Smallest” fish on the boat so far.

We only fished for an hour and half when the sun disappeared and the skies started to darken up coupled with the water temp cooling off and tide stopping prompted us to head in for the day.
